Northrop Grumman is seeking Mechanical Engineers for an internship opportunity. This position will be located at our Defense Systems Sector in Clearfield, UT.

The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman's Strategic Deterrent Systems Division (SDSD).

Responsibilities

• Provide technical contribution for new component/tool design, requirements definition, mechanical analysis, and repair processes.
• Interact and work daily with the government customer to ensure projects expectations are met and schedules are kept.
• Understand USAF processes, procedures, and requirements; develop mechanical integration approaches based on required instructions.
• Performs component research, system level analysis, detailed trade studies, and data analytics.

Basic Qualifications

A candidate must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:

• Be a student who is enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university and will be enrolled full time in Fall 2027.
• Be majoring in or having majored in Aerospace Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• Be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during summer 2027.
• Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite).

Preferred Qualifications

• Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.70/4.0 or higher.
• Current active Secret Security Clearance or higher.

Intern Pay Range for Clearfield, UT

• Bachelor's: $23.00 to $29.00 per hour
• Master's: $32.75 to $35.50 per hour

At Northrop Grumman, our internship pay rates are standardized and take into account three main factors: the anticipated graduation date of the individual, the cost of labor of the geographic location, and whether the internship is considered technical or administrative.
