Overview

Gilead's mission is to cure cancer, and Kite, its cell therapy business, is pushing that work further through personalized CAR T-cell therapies. Interns join Kite to help shape where the business and medical science go next.

Job Description

As a Gilead intern, you will work on meaningful projects that advance the company's mission and give you real-world experience at one of the most innovative organizations in the world. You will also have chances to take part in professional development and leadership presentations, social and networking activities, and local community volunteer programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage deviations and CAPAs within Kite Pharma's QMS system, including authoring records based on interviews and investigations with system managers.
  • Complete periodic reviews for IT systems as required by Kite Pharma processes.
  • Create or modify SOPs needed to administer IT systems that support Kite Pharma operations.
  • Complete project work as assigned.
  • Present your work in a final PowerPoint presentation near the end of your internship.

Required Qualifications

  • Be at least 18 years old at the start of the internship.
  • Be enrolled full-time in a Bachelor's, Master's, MBA, JD or PhD program at a nationally accredited U.S. college or university, and continue full-time enrollment in the Fall semester after the internship.
  • Be currently enrolled as an undergraduate (freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior) or as a graduate or doctoral student.
  • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 at the time of application and hire (official transcripts will be requested).
  • Be authorized to work in the United States now and in the future without school or employer sponsorship (official transcripts are required).
  • Commit to a full-time internship of 10-12 consecutive weeks between May and August.
  • Be willing and able to work at the designated site for the full internship (relocation may be required). All internships are hybrid, and fully remote roles are not offered.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree level.
  • Computer Science as a preferred field of study.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and proactively find solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a collaborative setting.
  • Demonstrated commitment to inclusion and diversity.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, able to manage competing priorities with short timelines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exposure to AI tools is a plus.
  • Technical writing and analytical skills.
