Job Description

The Future Talent Program offers internships lasting 10-12 weeks, involving one or more projects. These opportunities provide valuable development and a chance to see if our company aligns with your long-term goals.

The Biostatistics and Research Decision Sciences (BARDS) Epidemiology and RWE Capabilities & Analytics team is seeking 2027 summer interns.

Primary responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

• Summarizing background information on a specific topic through targeted literature review
• Conducting data analysis in real-world health data sources to understand data quality, disease identification, or treatment patterns; developing and validating prediction models
• Summarizing and interpreting study results
• Contributing to protocol development and manuscript writing
• Contributing to the development and update of visualization tools (e.g., dashboards, geospatial visuals) for real-world data
• Contributing to the development of materials to understand artificial intelligence and machine learning methods
• Communicating findings to internal or external audiences

Interns will have the opportunity to present their research in internal or external professional forums or meetings. They will also attend departmental and project team meetings to gain a broad perspective on the application of epidemiology and statistical methods in the pharmaceutical industry. We seek candidates with strong academic performance, communication skills, teamwork spirit, and the ability to work in a multi-functional environment.

Minimum Education Requirements:

• Must be a currently enrolled graduate student pursuing a PhD in epidemiology, biostatistics, public health, data science, biomedical informatics, or a closely related field; or a currently enrolled graduate student pursuing a PharmD with relevant training in epidemiology
• Must have completed at least 2 semesters of graduate work towards a PhD in one of the above fields, or towards a PharmD with relevant training in epidemiology, by May 30, 2027

Required Experience and Skills:

• Must be able to commit to full-time employment for 10-12 weeks starting in May or June 2027
• Must be scheduled to return to school in Fall 2027, unless the internship is a requirement for their degree
• Must have effective oral and written communication skills

Preferred Experience and Skills:

• Prior literature review (systematic/target) experience, a good understanding of real-world data and databases, and good knowledge of SAS, SQL, R, or Python
• Students with interest in genetics/biomarkers, geospatial analysis, policy, patient-reported outcomes/clinical outcomes assessments (PROs/COAs), data science, model development, or artificial intelligence/machine learning are encouraged to apply
