Cybersecurity Engineer Co-op

As the prime contractor for the High Fidelity Simulation (HFS) Portfolio, we are committed to advancing the Navy's mission through next-generation training systems like CIAT, the Combined Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) and Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) Trainer. Our work directly impacts warfighter readiness and mission success.

Position Overview

Leidos is seeking energetic, motivated, self-starters for technically sophisticated and challenging cybersecurity engineering positions. Cybersecurity Co-ops may develop complex, defensive cybersecurity solutions for trainer systems and their development environments, and assess and upgrade Linux servers and workstations. All work is performed in a Linux OS environment and is directly applicable to actual military training systems. Co-op students will gain invaluable, real-world experience on state-of-the-art computer-based systems. This co-op rotation will start in January 2027 and conclude in August 2027. Subsequent co-op rotations are available for those who require multiple co-op experiences.

Basic Qualifications

• You will participate in the development of large-scale computer-based training systems and must be able to learn and apply advanced cybersecurity engineering skills and techniques.
• You must be able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• You must be available to work at least 7 months full-time as a co-op.

Education

You must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related technical degree, have at least a 3.2 GPA, and demonstrate solid Linux system and defensive cybersecurity skills.

Citizenship

You must have U.S. Citizenship and be eligible to obtain a U.S. Government granted security clearance. Employment is contingent on receiving an interim Secret security clearance.

Experience

No past experience is required, however you will be working in a professional environment and contributing to systems that will be used throughout the U.S. Navy. Therefore, you must be dedicated to producing quality work results and extremely attentive to detail.
