Overview

At Bristol Myers Squibb, employees often ask, "Who are you working for?" That question drives collaboration, accountability, and urgency across our work. Our purpose-driven culture pushes us to discover, develop, and deliver innovative medicines for serious diseases. We offer meaningful work, opportunities for growth, and a supportive environment that values inclusion, wellbeing, flexibility, and comprehensive benefits.

Product Development works with colleagues across the full pharmaceutical development process, from discovery through commercial launch and beyond. PD delivers optimized chemical syntheses, formulations, and control strategies for both small molecule and biological therapeutics. The group also manufactures, packages, labels, and distributes all clinical supplies for studies run in more than 50 countries. We look for candidates who are proven team players, enjoy the challenge of unique scientific discovery in an emerging field, and show strong operational, interpersonal, project management, and collaboration skills. This starts with our summer intern program.

Summer interns work with mentors for about 10 weeks on a guided research project within a PD Project Team. The program gives interns industry and functional experience, challenging assignments, and a chance to learn about BMS and meet a range of company representatives. Applications are being accepted now and may be selected on a rolling basis.

The program will feature:

  • An orientation covering company structure, products, and brands
  • An introduction to the GPS and PD organizations
  • Exposure to senior management and business leaders
  • A formal presentation at the end of the internship
  • A mentor program
  • Formal review and feedback sessions
