Finance Internship 2027

The internship aims to provide meaningful, hands-on professional experience to students with proven academic performance and leadership potential. Ideal candidates will develop technical and soft skills, business knowledge, analytical techniques, and creative problem-solving abilities.

Assignments occur in various work environments, including corporate and operating unit headquarters, manufacturing plants, and support function locations, where interns interact with finance coworkers and business partners.

Intern assignments may be located at the following locations (matched by Abbott):

• California (Alameda, Pleasanton, Santa Clara, Sylmar, Temecula)
• Illinois (Lake County)
• Ohio (Columbus)
• Minnesota (St. Paul)
• Texas (Austin)

Abbott strongly considers high-performing interns as candidates for its Financial Professional Development Program (FPDP) after graduation. FPDP is a two-year rotational leadership development program with four separate work assignments covering corporate and division headquarters, affiliate locations, manufacturing plants, and other operating environments in the US and worldwide.

Required Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in school the semester following the internship
• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting related discipline
• Planning to complete a minimum of 3 Accounting classes before graduation (one 3-4 credit hour accounting course must be cost accounting)
• Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S.
• Overall GPA of 3.0 or higher

Preferred Qualifications

• On-campus leadership positions
• Member of school or national organizations in Finance or Accounting
• Previous work experience in finance or accounting related positions
• School and/or work experience using Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint & Power BI)
