Northrop Grumman is seeking a Technical Writer for an internship in Cape Canaveral, FL, within the Mission Systems sector. The selected candidate will join the Marine Systems Business Unit.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Write, rewrite, and edit technical documents such as procedure manuals, user manuals, programming manuals, service manuals, operational specifications, and related publications for Naval customers.
• Develop technical documents by collaborating with engineering teams and product developers, observing production methods, and referring to technical specifications, blueprints, engineering illustrations, and trade journals.
• Prepare illustrative materials, including drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts.

Basic Qualifications

Candidates must meet all of the following criteria:

• Be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited college/university and remain enrolled full-time in Fall 2027.
• Major in Technical Writing or English.
• Be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during summer 2027.
• Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship required) and Program Special Access within a reasonable time.

Preferred Qualifications

• Overall cumulative GPA of 3.00/4.0 or higher.
• U.S. Navy or other military experience.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
• Hands-on experience with large machinery, especially marine machinery.
• Active U.S. Secret security clearance.

Intern Pay Range

Bachelor's: $20.50 to $37.25 per hour

Master's: $29.00 to $45.50 per hour

Intern pay rates are standardized based on anticipated graduation date, geographic location, and whether the internship is technical or administrative.
