About the Role
Join Shopify’s Fall 2025 Internship Program and contribute to cutting-edge engineering solutions that power global commerce. This 8-month, full-time paid internship begins on September 2nd, 2025, and offers you hands-on experience in one of the most dynamic tech environments.
Internship Tracks:
- Applied Machine Learning Engineers
- Infrastructure Engineers
- Security Engineers
- Software Engineers
You’ll solve real-world problems, work on massive-scale systems, and write code used by millions. Rails experience isn’t required — what matters is your drive, curiosity, and passion for making commerce better.
What You’ll Do
- Design and develop scalable systems
- Contribute to one of the largest Ruby on Rails codebases
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on impactful features
- Learn directly from industry leaders and mentors
- Work in-office 3 days a week in Bellevue, WA (relocation may be required)
What We’re Looking For
- Passion for learning, hacking, and building
- Problem-solving mindset and strong coding fundamentals
- Ownership of your work and a love for simplicity in complex systems
- Interest in ML, infrastructure, security, or full-stack development
- Must be legally eligible to work in the U.S. for the duration of the internship
