Job Overview:
DXC Technology is seeking a talented Backend Developer to join its team in a remote capacity. The role focuses on building and maintaining backend services, APIs, and integrations to support the company’s growing tech ecosystem. As a Backend Developer, you will work on developing robust, scalable, and secure services using Python and associated frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain backend services and APIs according to project specifications.
- Implement new features and functionalities using Python and related frameworks.
- Follow established coding standards and architectural patterns to ensure high-quality code.
- Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code with a focus on long-term maintainability.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for the services and APIs developed.
- Adhere to security best practices in coding to ensure system integrity and data protection.
- Integrate with internal and external systems as required.
- Collaborate with frontend developers to ensure seamless API integration.
- Troubleshoot and resolve backend issues or bugs effectively and in a timely manner.
- Participate in the development of testing standards and implement automated tests for backend systems.
Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in backend development.
- Proficiency in Python programming language and frameworks.
- Solid understanding of RESTful API principles.
- Familiarity with database systems and SQL.
- Experience with version control tools, especially Git.
- Basic knowledge of web security principles.
- Experience working with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure at a basic level.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and frameworks.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with GraphQL for API development.
- Familiarity with JavaScript or TypeScript.
- Experience using API documentation tools.
- Basic understanding of containerization technologies like Docker.
- Interest in AI technologies and workflows.
- Experience with automated testing and CI/CD concepts.
- Familiarity with microservices architecture.
- Experience building AI agents is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Compensation Range: $50,400 – $93,500 annually.
