Role Summary
As a Software Engineer I, you will be part of our Renewals Engineering Team, responsible for reimagining and streamlining the renewal process using scalable systems, intelligent automation, and personalized solutions. Your work will directly contribute to client satisfaction, risk prevention, and technological innovation in the insurance domain.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop high-quality backend APIs and web services with a focus on scalability and efficiency
- Design and document public interfaces that are developer-friendly and easy to consume
- Work with cross-functional teams including Product, Design, Sales, and Site Reliability Engineers to convert business requirements into deliverables
- Ensure application stability by building strong test coverage and contributing to automation
- Collaborate on incident troubleshooting using observability and monitoring tools
- Take ownership of unforeseen engineering tasks and improvements that add value across teams
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Hands-on experience building APIs and services using Python and/or Go
- Strong understanding of cloud-native application development, including scalability, deployment, and 12-factor app design
- Exposure to monitoring and error-tracking tools such as Sentry, DataDog, Jaeger, Zipkin, GreyLog, or AppDynamics
- Experience working with Docker and container-based development workflows
- Comfortable using different communication protocols like REST, gRPC, and GraphQL
- Proficient with version control systems such as Git, SVN, or Perforce
- Familiar with Agile development processes and tools like JIRA, GitHub, or GitLab
- 0–2+ years of experience through internships or professional roles in software engineering
- Strong foundational knowledge from a CS/Engineering degree or equivalent work experience
Technical Skills Required: Python, Go, REST, gRPC, GraphQL, Docker, Git, SVN, Perforce, Sentry, DataDog, Jaeger, Zipkin, GreyLog, AppDynamics, Agile, Atlassian, GitHub, GitLab, Cloud-native development, OWASP security fundamentals
Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Skills
- Experience serving large-scale user bases (100,000+ users)
- Familiarity with event-driven or distributed systems
Compensation Details
- Base Salary Range: $99,000/year – $130,000/year (based on location, experience, and qualifications)
- Exact salary to be determined during the interview process by the recruiter
