About the Role
Apollo is looking for a Data Platform Engineer to join our Platform Engineering team. You’ll collaborate closely with our Data Science and broader engineering teams to enhance our data infrastructure, optimize strategic decision-making, and drive impactful solutions. Our work spans across product analytics, forecasting key business outcomes, refining sales processes, and more. If you’re passionate about building scalable data solutions and enabling teams with data-driven insights, this role is for you.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to critical data platform initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize data systems.
- Design and implement scalable data infrastructure solutions.
- Develop and enhance data pipelines, analytics tools, and monitoring systems.
- Work with technologies such as BigQuery, Airflow, Kafka, DBT, Fivetran, Kubernetes, GCP, Terraform, DataDog, and Docker.
- Ensure high availability, reliability, and security in data systems.
- Document technical designs and best practices to improve processes.
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in data platform engineering, analytics, or related fields.
- Strong expertise in SQL, GitOps, DBT, BigQuery, Kafka, Postgres, and ELT Data Pipelines.
- Experience in systems architecture, distributed systems, and event-driven patterns.
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, Helm, Kubernetes).
- Proficiency in cloud platforms like GCP, AWS, or Azure (GCP preferred).
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to balance technical and business trade-offs.
- A collaborative mindset and willingness to contribute to a high-performing team.
Bonus Points For
- Experience with Fivetran, Hightouch, and GraphQL.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and observability tools (DataDog, ArgoCD, CircleCI, Atlantis).
- Knowledge of Docker and containerization technologies.
- Strong understanding of cost efficiency, security, and observability in data platforms.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Range: $126,650 – $160,175 per year.
